Holidays

Holidays

Holidays... If you live pretty far from your long distance lover than it might be a bit more of a challenge to face.
Try to understand us LDR's but during the holidays, we'd like to be with out significant other during these times. And we don't really have a choice but to celebrate without them. However, there are ways to celebrate together; Even with distance in the way:)

VALENTINES DAY: Oh my goodness one of the days where we REALLY want to be with each other. This is a tough one because you want to physically be with each other but you can't. So what do you do? Guys. Send flowers to your girl. She loves that. Or the cliché teddy with chocolates.
Girls. Send him a love letter, he might just like a little feminine gift.

4TH OF JULY: I despise this time of year. Every time 4th of July comes around, I always see pictures of couples kissing under the fireworks. I get sad and start missing him ALOT.. You may not be able to kiss and hug on this day, but you CAN watch the fireworks at the same time on your TV's! So you both can admire the sparkling beauty simultaneously and share that special moment through distance:)

HALLOWEEN: This is my ultimate favorite holiday! I get to dress up and be something else for the night! But it would be just perfect if he were here... Then we could wear a matching costume together.. Then it came to me; We can still wear a matching costume, it'll just have to be distant:(
It's better than nothing:)

CHRISTMAS: It's not the most wonderful time of the year because you might not have the money or time to visit each other this time of the year. Christmas is probably the hardest holiday to celebrate without your loved one. The only thing you can do is send each other gifts and call each other through the phone:)

NEW YEARS: Same thing with the 4th of July thing. Except, we Americans have a thing on kissing when the clock strikes 12:00 and the ball drops. When you're in a long distance relationship, it's kind of hard and we envy the people who get to be with each other. The only thing I can say is to not worry about the other couples and figure a way out to celebrate New years:)

How To Be Romantic

How To Be Romantic

How can you be romantic in a long distance relationship? People constantly wonder and ask and there are many solutions to this problem. It's tough to keep a relationship interesting and fun, especially if you can't do things you normally would do in person. However, I beg to differ.
You can still be romantic and sweet from a distance. Here's a few ideas that I came up with..

Send love letters! It just takes about 10 minutes and it would make his/her day. Make it a surprise too. Write a poem or just describe how much that person means to you. Spray your perfume/cologne
on the letter and cross your fingers and hope it still smells like you.

Send an unexpected gift! Even if it isn't someone's birthday or even if it isn't a holiday, you can still send something sweet. Literally, Chocolates if they have a sweet tooth, flowers because why the hell not? However, you want to know what's better than buying gifts and all of that stuff? Making a home made gift from your hands. There's that physical bond you share without being there with each other.

Make a journal together! Write a diary like page about your relationship in the journal and send it back to your significant other. It's easy and simple and cherishing. Because one day when you're able to be together physically, you can look back at your struggles and learn from them.

Make a scrapbook with pictures or even your love letters! Joseph and I send each other letters and he's sent me a gift in a package. I kept the package so I can put it in our scrap book. I also kept our letters in a secret safe so we can also put those in the scrap book along with our pictures. It's just the simplest things that count.
